WORKSHOPS
CREATE. LEARN. SHARE
Atelier Quinze offers a number of workshops and one-to-one classes. With a large, fully-equipped, ground floor workshop, individual work benches on the first floor, and the weaving and textiles studio on the second floor, we are well equipped for lots of activities. See below for the current timetable of workshops. If you join my newsletter I will let you know when new workshops are added.
As well as individual workshops we are planning to organise social get togethers where we meet up to make things (if we want), chat over a cup of tea or coffee and generally chill and meet like-minded folk for a couple of hours.

Atelier Quinze
From the tender age of four I was always drawing or painting. Always had a pen in my hand or a bag of coloured crayons close by. It was all I ever wanted to do. But it wasn't until my late thirties that I decided to take the next step and get a qualification, if only to prove to myself that I had some talent, some creative ability.
In 2003 I left Winchester School of Art clutching my BA (Hons) Textile Design degree wondering what now? In the years that followed I made new friends and contacts across a diverse range of crafts and design as I worked freelance designing weave and surface pattern designs. You can see my woven designs on this site and surface pattern designs HERE.
When a holiday home in France became my permanent residence, the search began to find suitable premises to open a studio. After some false starts we finally found a lovely building crying out to be restored to its former glory.
A double-fronted, three storey complex with the oldest parts dating back to 1700 and something (as far as we can tell). The ground floor spaces were at times in their history a boulangerie on the left and a photographer's studio on the right (the latter dating to the 1930's).
After six months, the transformation is now complete and the building has been given a new lease of life as Atelier Quinze - the building being number 15. Here I can not only produce my own work but also offer workshops to those seeking to satisfy their own creative interests. I also have a lovely boutique where you can buy a range of goods, all hand made at the studio.
My background is not only textiles but other creative activities and I can't wait to share my experience and enthusiasm for all things 'make' - my sister site, www.beverleyhicklin.com, gives you further information on my glass bead making processes and you can also buy my glasswork here on this site. So, if you would like to learn a new creative skill, or to simply join with others to have a social get together and make new friends, please get in touch.
