A slight change to the website and I hope you like it. A new year brings change, none more than at Atelier Quinze. It is more than four years since we started on the exciting process of turning a rather neglected old building into the studio I have today and during that time there's been a lot of fun, (some moments of drama), but overall it's been a wonderful experience and one that I hope will continue for many years to come.
However, there are some changes. As you probably know, or will have read on the site, everything in the boutique is handmade, presently, all by me. That means consequently that takes time and in the case of hand weaving and lamp work glass bead making, a lot of time. Typically, for example, a hand woven scarf could take a minimum of 3 days to produce.
Consequently I have found it challenging to find the time to make, and restock, the boutique when it has been open all week. Also, the layout of the studio space makes it impossible to be in the boutique at the same time as weaving on the top floor, for instance. Therefore, from now on the boutique will open one day a month from 11h00 to 16h00. The first Open Day will be Monday 12th February - perfect timing for Valentine's Day! - and thereafter I will update the site, and my social media, with the next date after then. Of course, I am more than happy to continue to open to personal visits should you want to visit outside the open days, so just contact me and I can arrange that for you.
What can you expect to see on the Open Days? Of course I will still be stocking the same products I love to make - the vintage bags, my lampwork glass jewellery and hand woven textiles. But, the added time will allow me to experiment more (something I've always loved to do) and, of course, increase the stock in the boutique so you will have much more choice available. Also, a hot cup of coffee (or tea!) or a glass of wine will always be available when you visit so come along, say hi, and see what I've been up to. I hope to see you soon. In the meantime here are some images of what I've been making and what will appear soon in the boutique.
